چکیده

Abstract This paper describes the mathematical structure of ill-posed nonlinear inverse problem low-dose dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and explains advantages a deep learning-based approach to reconstruction images over conventional regularization methods. underlying reasons why CBCT is more than standard tomography. Despite this severe ill-posedness, demand for systems rapidly growing because their cost competitiveness low radiation dose. We then describe limitations existing methods in accurate restoration morphological structures teeth using data severely damaged by metal implants. further discuss usefulness panoramic generated from tooth segmentation. also possibility utilizing radiation-free intra-oral scan as prior information image compensate damage caused

Clinical applications of cone-beam computed tomography in dental practice.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) systems have been designed for imaging hard tissues of the maxillofacial region. CBCT is capable of providing sub-millimetre resolution in images of high diagnostic quality, with short scanning times (10-70 seconds) and radiation dosages reportedly up to 15 times lower than those of conventional CT scans. Increasing availability of this technology provides t...

Cone beam computed tomography in the diagnosis of dental disease.

Conventional radiographs provide important information for dental disease diagnosis. However, they represent 2-D images of 3-D objects with significant structure superimposition and unpredictable magnification. Cone beam computed tomography, however, allows true 3-D visualization of the dentoalveolar structures, avoiding major limitations of conventional radiographs. Cone beam computed tomograp...
